If you follow me on Facebook you know that I love color! I think color is the easiest way to transform a room, piece of furniture, outfit or lots of other things. So of course I had to try a piece of furniture using the Pantone 2013 Color of the Year—-EMERALD. I must say that I love all shades of green so emerald was an easy color for me to embrace. I actually did a few pieces a while back with a little lighter shade of green called “Envy” by Sherwin Williams. All the pieces I did in that color sold quick.
Now on the good stuff. I recently completed a nightstand using “Argyle” by Sherwin Williams. It has a deep rich emerald color. I also distressed it and added a smooth coat of dark wax on the top to give it a nice antiqued look. I would love to know what you think.
It is also available for sale. $105.00. It just SOLD!
I hope you like it.

Gorge!
I wouldn’t consider myself to typically be a big fan of most greens, but I really do love this. I should sell quickly! 🙂

Imagine my surprise when I’m perusing the projects linked up at My Repurposed Life, and I find this nightstand. What’s crazy is that its identical twin is in the middle of my floor right now, with the first coat of paint drying on it. It came from a bedroom suite that my father-in-law had as a child, which later my husband used, and then my son. I primed it a couple years ago but never took the next step to officially paint it until today. And then I spotted yours. Weird.
Congrats on the quick sale! I have painted several pieces of furniture for my own use or a friend, and have several in my basement right now waiting to be made over and sold. I just have to get motivated and do it!

@Hollie that is so awesome. It is definitely not like any I have seen before. I love the 2 little drawers. I couldn’t for the life of me find the before picture. Maybe you have one. Haha!! Thanks for sharing. You never know who sees the stuff you post so I’m glad we could connect over this piece. Thanks for stopping by. I am a little new to blogging but have had a painting/vintage goods business for over 7 years. I am working on a new post right now! Thanks again!

I was doing a search on Pinterest for emerald green paint colors and came across your piece. We have the same bedroom suite, which was handed down by my father-in-law to our son. I’ve been breaking it up piece by piece and painting it for various uses. Here’s my version of the same nightstand you did!

Hollie I love it! You are the second person that sent me something on the same furniture set. I think it is so funny how there are certain pieces that people have and paint. I love seeing all the different creative things people do with the exact same piece. Thanks for sharing! I love it! Great job!
